Cersei Lannister's Walk of Shame during Sunday night's episode of Game of Thrones was not only one of the most memorable moments of the Season 5 finale but also of the whole season. The six-minute sequence showed Cersei having all of her hair cut off, being stripped and then being forced to walk for miles through a rowdy crowd in King's Landing. Back when the scene was filmed in October, it was reported that Lena Headey, the Emmy-nominated actress who portrays Cersei on Game of Thrones , would not be doing her own nude scene but use a body double instead. That actress was Rebecca Van Cleave, and she recently revealed to Entertainment Weekly how that scene came together. The scene took three days to film in Dubrovnik, Croatia last October. Van Cleave, who was one of more than 1, actresses that applied to be Headey's body double, filmed the scene nude while Headey wore a beige shift during her performance.

Seven finalists were then flown to Belfast to meet with producers, including Van Cleave, an American who has landed theater and minor roles since she was 5, but had never previously performed a nude scene. She also opted out of the casting process for her double. EW was on the Thrones set when the sequence was filmed. Yet there were some rough moments, too.

Headey later had to defend herself for making the decision to use a nude body double. Speaking about filming the scenes , Van Cleave told Entertainment Weekly at the time: "I never in a million years would have thought I would be in Dubrovnik surrounded by hundreds of extras and crew members throwing food at me, but it was amazing. Along with her acting credits, the star is also the lead singer of Americana rock band Ophelia with the group releasing its debut EP The Bedroom Sessions in autumn Ophelia released its debut album back in January this year and the star is promoting the record at the moment.
